About Me

Through the course of my life, I've learned that...  I'm not normal.  :)  This is not by my own choosing.  Quite to the contrary.  Like everyone else, I've tried hard to conform to the pattern of normal, thinking somehow it would help me fit in or be a better mom/wife/etc.  However, through many years of personal struggles and failures, I have learned that FOR ME the most successful way of overcoming any given challenge is almost always to just figure out my own unique way of doing it.  When it comes to homeschooling, the same applies.  My children, like me, are delightfully unique - which means no single comprehensive homeschool curriculum or method or tool set will do, no matter how much I may wish it.  For my kids and I, everything must be figured out, one aspect at a time, to see what works for us.  This usually involves tons of research and lots of trial and error.  Tons...

Make no mistake, though - I'm not complaining!  Through this time and effort, I have stumbled upon some AMAZING discoveries - books, websites, products, tips, techniques - that have made a WORLD of difference for us in our schooling experience, and too in everyday life!  I'm GLAD that our "quirks" have led us to find so many wonderful treasures!  I can't imagine trying to get by without them...

So many times I'll casually share my lastest finding with a friend and find them telling me, "That's EXACTLY what I've been looking for!"  Finally I got the message: even though I've been driven to these findings on account of mine and my children's unique learning styles, that doesn't mean that I'm unique in my benefit from them.  So, after multiple requests from friends, no more keeping these exciting findings to myself!  Each post will feature a new "discovery" that I'm happy to pass on to you.  I hope and pray that something I've found will bless you and your family in some way.  Please feel free to contact me if you have a discovery that you would like to share with me as well!

Rest assured, I do not sell any of these products, nor will I ever - if for no other reason than that I don't want to have my opinion tainted.  If I say something is awesome, it's only because I truly believe it.

To God be the glory!  Quirks and all!  :)
